TPC has a brand-new logo. To understand why we've changed our look, we take a quick look back at where we came from and where we're going.

You might have noticed that TPC is looking a lot sleeker. We’re still The Pro’s Closet, but go ahead and call us “TPC” — many of our customers, employees, and folks in the industry already do. You don’t choose your own nickname, but we’re glad TPC is ours, and we’ve embraced the change with a new logo to match. Before we get into why we’ve changed our logo, let’s take a look at where we came from.

TPC Through the Years

TPC logo timeline history

The eBay Logo (2006-2015)

TPC Ebay logoThe original logo and the VW Bus where it all started.

Our founder, Nick Martin, started TPC in 2006 while chasing his pro racing dreams and living out of his VW Bus. To make ends meet, he started selling his used race gear on eBay and eventually, began selling gear for teammates and other local cyclists. For many years, eBay auctions were the bread and butter of our business and the original logo reflected this, using eBay’s red, blue, yellow, and green color scheme.

The Lightning Bolt Logo (2015-2018)

TPC grew rapidly until we became the biggest bike seller on eBay. This meant more employees and more warehouse space to handle the increased volume. We became a more serious business and designed a new logo to match our get-it-done attitude. The inspiration came from one of Nick’s favorite artists, Elvis Presley, and his “TCB” logo. “TCB” stood for “taking care of business,” and conveniently, it sounded like TPC. This was also our first logo to use our signature green.

The CPO Logo (2018-2023)

TPC CPO LogoThe CPO logo and the mark of a Certified Pre-Owned bike.

2018 was a big year for us. We established TPC as an e-commerce destination by launching our own website and introducing the industry’s first Certified Pre-Owned (CPO) bike program. This shift meant we also needed a new logo that was uniquely ours. Every CPO bike is inspected, serviced, and guaranteed by our team of professional bike mechanics, and the new logo was designed to reflect the CPO process with three elements flowing into one to create an implied "P.”

The New TPC

New TPCCycling is constantly evolving, and TPC is at the forefront of changing the way cyclists buy bikes. To capture that spirit of transformation, we’re launching into the next stage of our journey as a company of riders committed to empowering your cycling experience. We introduced a new logo that puts our abbreviation at the forefront of the brand, revealed a new color palette, and released a streamlined digital experience to communicate what makes TPC the leader in the Certified Pre-Owned cycling space. We hope you’ll join the ride in 2023 and beyond.
