The Pro’s Closet is committed to making the bike industry more inclusive. And we are putting our money where our mouth is. We’ve just signed on as a top-tier sponsor of Quality Bicycle Product’s (QBP) Industry DEI Scholarship program.

This program offers scholarships to train the bike mechanics of tomorrow. And in doing so, the scholarships aim to diversify the bike shops of the future.

There are scholarship opportunities catered toward gender diversity — for women, transgender, non-binary, gender non-conforming, two-spirit, and agender individuals. QBP has also opened up scholarship opportunities for BIPOC (Black, indigenous, people of color) individuals.

TPC has 35 bike technicians on staff, so we know firsthand the benefit of training, like that provided by QBP. Our sponsorship is also a three-year commitment because this work takes time.

Our hope is that, in supporting these scholarships, we’ll open the door for people from diverse backgrounds and perspectives to join the ranks, whether it’s in our facility or at your local bike shop. When this happens, the bike industry will only become better.
