In October 2020, Lilly Outten had a light switch go off in her head. Her good friend had just taken off on the Arkansas High Country Race. She sat and watched all 20-odd riders pedal off and thought to herself, "Shit, I want to do more." That day, she went home and told herself that she would ride her bike every day of the race. She met a coach, she started signing up for her own races, but she wasn’t ready at all for what comes up when you start training at 31, especially when you start during a pandemic.
