The Ibis Hakka MX is the multi-purpose successor to the Hakkalügi, Ibis’ legendary cyclocross bike. The Hakkalügi started in steel, evolved into carbon fiber, and won national and world championships. The MX is for monster cross, meaning it can take 700c tires up to 40mm wide and 650b/27.5” tires up to 2.1” thanks to the 430mm chainstays.

The Hakka MX was introduced in 2017. The point was to keep the maneuverability of a cross bike but give it powers to ride comfortably on both extremes—aggressive gravel and smooth road. On the gravel end, a round 31.8mm opening for a seatpost means it can house a regular post or take a dropper post for more extreme off-road adventures. On the road end, the carbon-fiber chainstays are super-stiff for maximizing power transfer to the rear wheel. Other design elements for versatility include a T47 bottom bracket to fit all cranks, cable, and hose guides to run braking and shifting, whether 1x, 2x, electronic, or mechanical.
