You might not know how windy Colorado can be. Altitude, sun, mountains — yes. But Colorado’s Front Range is a particularly windy place. Although our home region can make us stronger, tougher cyclists, it is also hazardous. That very wind fueled the Marshall Fire on Thursday, December 30.

Over the course of fewer than 24 hours, the fire consumed nearly 1,000 homes in Superior and Louisville. Colorado’s most destructive wildfire burnt to within about a mile of TPC’s Louisville warehouse before it was contained by the heroic efforts of firefighters from throughout the region.

We feel tremendously fortunate that our facility was spared. With that privilege comes the responsibility to help our community rebuild.

Starting this week, The Pro’s Closet will donate $100 from every bike sold, up to $10,000 total, to support the Boulder County Community Foundation. TPC will also be matching employee donations to charities that contribute to relief efforts. Finally, we are working with our local community to help riders get back in the saddle, if their bikes were lost in the fire. Combined, TPC aims to donate $25,000 to relief efforts.

If you’d like to contribute directly to fire relief efforts, we’d encourage you to donate to the Boulder County Community Foundation’s Wildfire Fund.

Just like riding in the wind, only our collective efforts can prevail, and TPC is ready to pull through.
