A New (kinda) Face in the Gravel Arena

Why We Love It
Valentine's Day Staff Pick:
"I've heard rumors of the Rover's confident and responsive gravel handling and think it'd compliment my Roubaix nicely. When I'm in the market for a gravel rig, this might just have to be the one!" - Ethan M, Product Manager

Just a short drive over the mountains from us is a relatively young, but thrilling bike brand called Revel Bikes. Revel got their start in 2016 and quickly became known for their high quality, carbon, full-suspension rigs ready to take on all types of trails and with their backyard being the Roaring Fork Valley, there was no shortage of testing and R&D on some of Colorado's best trails. Recently, however, Revel decided to flex their muscles in the gravel world as well with the Rover. Now, the Revel brand may not have dipped their toe in the drop bar, skinnier tire world yet, but their sister brand Why Cycles has been making incredible titanium gravel rigs since 2016, so the concept isn't actually new to them. The folks at Revel had been putting in plenty of gravel miles on Why's titanium R+ and decided there should be a carbon iteration of this rig and with the endless ways carbon can be shaped to achieve a desired ride character and quality, they knew they could make magic. Boasting 700 x 50mm tire clearance (650b x 2.1"), a beautiful threaded bottom bracket and a snappy and responsive geo that's exaggerated by the short 420mm chainstay, steeper seat tube and a slightly longer reach than many gravel bikes - this pony is ready to party. We had the opportunity to drool over the Rover in person this year at SBTGRVL and must say, it's truly an eye-catching ride. On a personal note, one went flying by me up the last climb around mile 135 and the rider seemed fresher than anyone else around.
