This June, the Waldo Canyon fire displaced over 30,000 people, destroyed 346 homes, killed 2 people and burned nearly 30 square miles in one day. The Red Cross was there to provide housing, food and counseling to those effected by the fire. The fire was the most costly in Colorado’s history with damages totaling nearly $350 million.
The Pro’s Closet has partnered with Colorado Spring’s local pro Michael Creed to help raise money for those effected by the colorado wildfires. Creed contact his friends and contacts within the cycling community with the initial plan of raising $20,000. In a matter of weeks 101 items were curated ranging from Lance Armstrong’s actual numbers from the 2009 TDF, Danny Pate’s Cervélo frame, George Hincapie’s USPS time trial frame, a Garmin-Sharp team bike and many more.
With a couple days left in the auctions it appears that we will exceed Creed’s initial goal. Thank you for all of those that have donated to the cause and to those who have been involved in the bidding.
