This week our Vintage Bike Quiz gets the Olympic treatment!
The Los Angeles Games were a bonanza for the U.S Cycling team. This was likely due to the absence of the U.S.S.R. team, which boycotted the 1984 Olympics returning the favor to the Americans who skipped the 1980 Games in Moscow.
Regardless, the 1984 Olympics introduced the world to rising American stars like Phinney, Connie Carpenter, Rebecca Twigg, and Ron Kiefel. After the Los Angeles Olympics, they would go on to win major races, such as the world championships, stages of the Tour de France and Giro d'Italia, and other prestigious events.
We wheeled in Davis Phinney's race-ridden Murray from the 1984 Olympics to test your cycling knowledge.
